Overview

Valmont is a Fortune 1000 company that focuses on advancing agricultural productivity and reimagining vital infrastructure. The Structural Back Welder operates a sub-arc welder to ensure quality welding on pole shafts, contributing to the company's mission of moving the world forward.

Responsibilities

• Operate a sub-arc welder and place a weld on one or four sides of the shafts.
• Gouge and grind required areas clean enough to pass ultrasonic inspections post weld.
• Weld, grind, and repair each pole prior to inspection by Quality Inspectors.
• Repair all seaming defects as directed by Quality Inspectors.
• Maintain accountability and perform maintenance on essential tools and welding equipment.
• Work timely and expeditiously to deliver an on-time product without manufacturing errors.
• Participate in department safety and demonstrate excellent safety practices.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Must pass an AWS welder qualification test and use sub-arc welding equipment without difficulty.
• Minimum of 3 years experience in a heavy manufacturing environment or graduation from an accredited trade school with one year of experience.
• Knowledge of welding properties of a variety of metals and alloys.
• Thorough knowledge of welding procedures and practices.
• Ability to calculate formulas using basic mathematics and standard measurements.
• Knowledge of Valmont's quality procedures, standards, and environmental policies.
• Must maintain an acceptable level of production, quality, and attendance as determined by Management after 90 days.

• Location: 25010 Alliance Dr Claremore Oklahoma 74017
• Available Shift: 2nd - Monday to Thursday 5:00pm - 3:30am; 4th - Friday to Sunday 5:00am - 5:00pm.
• Pay: $28.07/hour with a $2/hr night shift differential, increasing to $30.63/hr by 6-month anniversary.
