Job Description

Are you an experienced welder looking for a high-precision fabrication role with competitive pay? Our client is looking for a skilled TIG Welder to join their team in Rockton, IL. In this role, you will set up and operate various welding equipment (Heli, TIG, MIG, and Stick) to join metal components under tight tolerances, ensuring high quality and pressure-tested durability.

Role Highlights

-Compensation: $25.71/hr. -Benefits: Full benefits package available once converted to permanent hire. -Shift/schedule: 2nd Shift: 3:35pm - 2:05am (Monday-Thursday) -Employment type: Temp-to-Hire (TTH) -Growth or other perks: Enjoy 3-day weekends and full benefits upon conversion to permanent hire.

What You'll Do

-Read production orders and blueprints to select proper fixtures, electrodes, and parameters based on the metal type and join specifications. -Set up and operate Heli, TIG, MIG, and Stick welding equipment, including setting wire feed speed, voltage, current, and torch angles. -Secure components in fixtures and weld assembly parts (grills, switch arms, beaters, hoods, helix blades, gear mounts) under tight tolerances using cold-rolled steel, aluminum, ampco, and stainless steel. -Clean workpieces using grinders and chisels; visually inspect welds and perform 300 PSI pressure testing on finished welds. -Grind and reweld any deficient welds or scraper blades to meet strict quality guidelines. -Organize completed parts, perform routine preventive maintenance on welding machinery, and maintain accurate daily production records.

What You'll Bring

-Education: High school diploma or equivalent, plus at least 6 months of vocational or specialized technical training beyond high school. -Experience: 2 years of related welding experience (MIG, TIG, Stick, and Heli arc welding preferred). -Technical & Blueprint Skills: Ability to read and interpret welding blueprints, process sheets, and layout specifications across multiple metal types. -Quality & Precision: Experience performing visual weld inspections, grinding/cleaning welds, and pressure-testing components. -Physical Capabilities: Steady active physical stamina with regular speed, manual accuracy, and safety focus throughout the shift.
