Overview

UE Manufacturing is hiring a Second Shift Welder I in Oklahoma City, OK. The role involves performing structural and pipe welding assignments while maintaining a safe working environment.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare surfaces for welding by grinding barge and boat repair and fabrication areas.
  • Complete necessary passes to produce full penetration welds on specialty components and areas.
  • Use various tools to operate welding and grinding equipment and complete tasks.
  • Weld steel plate/pipe as directed by a foreman or supervisor.
  • Safely and efficiently use hand, power, and cutting tools.
  • Consult with foreman or supervisor regarding installation or repair problems.
  • Remove high spots and cut bevels using hand files and portable grinders.
  • May tack weld clips and brackets in place prior to permanent welding.
  • Maintain a safe working environment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Equivalent combination of experience and training that provides the required knowledge, abilities, and skills.
  • Ability to effectively speak clearly; bilingual preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in a shipyard environment.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Proficient in safety equipment usage.
