Overview

Iron Workers at Anning-Johnson Co. are involved in erecting iconic buildings across the US, contributing to the skyline of many cities. The role requires a solid understanding of blueprints and safety practices while ensuring high-quality construction standards.

Responsibilities

  • Read and interpret blueprints and shop drawings.
  • Follow all company safety guidelines and practices.
  • Install metal decking and accessories according to blueprints and measurements.
  • Install closures at building perimeters and interiors using survey marks and lines.
  • Demonstrate solid knowledge of rigging.
  • Move metal decking and large tools at heights safely.
  • Teach apprentices the trade when applicable.
  • Clean up all trade-related materials for a clean work area.

Requirements

  • Solid knowledge of blueprints and shop drawings.
  • Ability to follow safety guidelines and practices.
  • Experience in installing metal decking and accessories.
  • Knowledge of rigging.
  • Comfort with working at heights.

Additional Information

  • Wages in the LA area range from $22.38 per hour for entry-level apprentices to $44.75 per hour for Journeyman.
  • Wages are determined by union scale as per the current collective bargaining agreement.
