Overview
Iron Workers at Anning-Johnson Co. are involved in erecting iconic buildings across the US, contributing to the skyline of many cities. The role requires a solid understanding of blueprints and safety practices while ensuring high-quality construction standards.
Responsibilities
- Read and interpret blueprints and shop drawings.
- Follow all company safety guidelines and practices.
- Install metal decking and accessories according to blueprints and measurements.
- Install closures at building perimeters and interiors using survey marks and lines.
- Demonstrate solid knowledge of rigging.
- Move metal decking and large tools at heights safely.
- Teach apprentices the trade when applicable.
- Clean up all trade-related materials for a clean work area.
Requirements
- Solid knowledge of blueprints and shop drawings.
- Ability to follow safety guidelines and practices.
- Experience in installing metal decking and accessories.
- Knowledge of rigging.
- Comfort with working at heights.
Additional Information
- Wages in the LA area range from $22.38 per hour for entry-level apprentices to $44.75 per hour for Journeyman.
- Wages are determined by union scale as per the current collective bargaining agreement.
