Overview
The Maintenance Technician - Manufacturing is responsible for inspecting, maintaining, and repairing industrial equipment and machinery to ensure proper working order. The role requires mechanical and electrical experience, particularly in the printing and thermoforming industries, and involves a variety of tasks including preventive maintenance and training new employees.
Responsibilities
- Read work orders and specifications to determine machines and equipment requiring repair or maintenance.
- Prioritize different assignments based on importance and order of tasks.
- Assist with the installation of new machinery.
- Follow all safety rules and regulations, taking caution around the press.
- Demonstrate and teach newer employees proper machine usage and safety measures.
- Perform preventive maintenance on all production equipment.
- Complete other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High School Diploma.
- Previous mechanical and electrical experience in the printing and/or thermoforming industry preferred.
- Tow motor experience preferred.
- Owns a basic tool set.
- Familiar with a voltmeter to check voltages up to 480V.
- Knowledgeable in wiring and operation of relays, motors, motor contactors, transformers, and PLCs.
- Familiar with 3 phase power up to 480 volts.
- Experience with installing and testing electrical circuits and basic wiring.
- Ability to read a wiring schematic.
- Can test and repair pneumatic systems including cylinders and valves.
- Can test and repair hydraulic systems including cylinders, pumps, and valves.
- Ability to read a part drawing.
- Can layout and fabricate simple parts using a drill, drill press, or manual mill.
