Job Description

Overview

The Wind Turbine Technician is responsible for climbing and servicing utility-scale wind turbines in an offshore array, performing both scheduled and unscheduled maintenance tasks. This role requires a combination of technical skills and the ability to work at heights in challenging weather conditions.

Responsibilities

  • Climb and service utility-scale wind turbines across an offshore array.
  • Perform scheduled gearbox inspections.
  • Conduct blade pitch calibration.
  • Lubricate yaw drives and maintain hydraulic brakes.
  • Troubleshoot pitch and converter faults from the nacelle.
  • Torque foundation bolts to specification.
  • Replace worn slip rings and filters.
  • Document every work order in the asset management system.
  • Coordinate lifts and isolations with the control room before work begins.

Requirements

  • GWO Working at Heights certification.
  • GWO Sea Survival certification.
  • Rope-access proficiency.
  • Offshore medical clearance.
  • Comfort working ninety meters above open water in changing weather.
