Overview

Howmet Aerospace Inc. is a leading global provider of advanced engineered solutions for the aerospace and transportation industries. The Welder position involves safely operating welding equipment, inspecting parts for compliance, and maintaining documentation.

Responsibilities

  • Safely set-up and operate welding equipment in accordance to work order requirements and process instructions.
  • Inspect parts for conformance to blueprint and make necessary adjustments to ensure compliance with specifications and part approval.
  • Complete required documentation accurately including work instructions sheet, identification tags, and data entry of labor transactions.
  • Adhere to all safety, quality and operating procedures and maintain a clean work area.
  • Perform safety checks and preventative maintenance on equipment, as required.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Certification in Welding (TIG) or equivalent work experience.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Read basic measuring devices including micrometers and calipers.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Desire to work overtime, as needed.
  • Ability to meet the physical demand of the job.
  • Previous experience working in a manufacturing setting preferred.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude preferred.
