Overview

At Blue Origin, we envision millions of people living and working in space for the benefit of Earth. This role involves manual TIG welding on aerospace-grade materials and supports various operations within Blue Origin.

Responsibilities

  • Perform manual TIG welding on aerospace-grade stainless steel, aluminum, and Inconel hardware.
  • Execute weld preparation tasks including cutting, blending, chamfering, and cleaning of parts.
  • Support and prepare hardware for post-weld inspection processes.
  • Perform periodic maintenance on machines with complex systems.
  • Accurately use precision measuring tools to verify dimensional conformance and weld quality.
  • Interpret and work from engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Review, edit, and follow Work Instructions for welding and assembly operations.
  • Design, support, and fabricate tooling and fixtures for welding and assembly operations.
  • Communicate with engineers on design concepts and improvements.
  • Monitor and verify weld quality in accordance with established quality control procedures.
  • Work safely and responsibly within an industrial manufacturing environment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Operate overhead cranes.

Requirements

  • 3+ years' experience with DC- and AC-TIG welding of metals including stainless steels, aluminum, and Inconel alloys.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to use precision hand tools and standard mechanical tools.
  • Familiarity with personal computers.
