Overview

Optimized Process Designs, LLC (OPD) is seeking a QC Inspector for their jobsite in Baytown, TX. OPD is an engineering and construction company with expertise in the natural gas, natural gas liquids, and petrochemical industries, known for their integrity and efficiency in project execution.

Responsibilities

• Effectively work with others to implement improvements to quality and/or performance.
• Approve incoming supplier materials by confirming specifications and conducting visual and measurement tests.
• Confirm that only approved welders, procedures, materials, etc. are being used in production.
• Document inspection results by completing reports/logs and inputting data into OPD’s Construction Management System (CMS).
• Serve as an accountable leader of Safety and Environmental Concerns at Field Sites.
• Actively participate in a strong safety culture and recognize safety hazards and risks.
• Participate in onsite safety meetings and follow OPD and client safety policies and procedures.
• Be aware of changing conditions on an active jobsite and be on time to the jobsite each day ready for work.
• Display a positive attitude and be able to work in a team environment.

Requirements

• 2+ years of experience as Quality Control Inspector in the Oil & Gas Industry.
• Proven ability to effectively communicate with both internal and external customers.
• Basic Computer Skills.
• Willing to travel 100% of the time to locations that could be outside the Houston area.
• 5+ years of experience as Quality Control Inspector in the Oil & Gas Industry is preferred.
• AWS CWI Certification is preferred.
• ASNT Level II VT Certification is preferred.
• ACI Concrete Field Testing Tech Grade 1 is preferred.
• Visual acuity to Jaeger J1 test chart within the last 12 months is preferred.
• NACE Coating Inspector Certification is preferred.
• API Certifications (570, 510, or 653) are preferred.
• Knowledge of AMSE Section V, IX and B31.3 is preferred.

• Capable of working in outdoor weather and environmental conditions including extreme heat and humidity, extreme cold, and high elevations.
• Standing for extended periods of time up to 12 hours per day.
