Overview
We are a growing plastics manufacturing company committed to quality, safety, and continuous improvement. We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Equipment Maintenance Technician to join our operations team in Houston, TX.
Responsibilities
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on manufacturing equipment and machinery.
- Troubleshoot and repair electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and PLC-controlled systems.
- Diagnose equipment issues and implement effective solutions to minimize downtime.
- Support facility maintenance activities as directed by the Maintenance Manager.
- Assist in developing, managing, and executing maintenance schedules and priorities.
- Collaborate with production teams to improve machine performance, increase efficiency, and reduce scrap.
- Conduct equipment cleanouts and provide guidance to operators on proper equipment handling and operation.
- Establish and improve preventive maintenance programs, corrective actions, and maintenance procedures.
- Recommend and implement equipment modifications and process improvements.
- Coordinate with engineering resources on equipment design improvements and technical problem-solving.
- Maintain inventory of spare parts, maintenance supplies, safety equipment, and consumables.
- Ensure compliance with GMP, safety, and company policies throughout the facility.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives focused on quality, safety, and operational excellence.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong electrical troubleshooting and repair experience.
- Experience with PLC troubleshooting.
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English fluently.
- Basic computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Outlook.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Professional appearance and conduct.
- Experience in plastics manufacturing (preferred).
- HVAC maintenance experience (preferred).
- Knowledge of hydraulic systems and equipment maintenance (preferred).
- Experience with continuous improvement and preventive maintenance programs (preferred).
