Overview

The Application Sales Support Engineer is responsible for the fulfillment side of Machine Tool sales, ensuring operational capability of CNC lathes and integrated 3-axis gantry loaders. The role involves applying process techniques and software to develop engineering solutions, along with customer training and troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

• Establish and maintain effective working relationships with new and existing customers.
• Support the machining process concept and creation of engineered solutions for turnkey projects.
• Communicate proactively on customer requests and submit weekly reports on interactions and services rendered.
• Install machines and/or accessories for standalone sales in the Southern CA area.
• Install measuring probes, PPG, and other process-specific components.
• Create CNC programs manually and/or using CadCam programming software.
• Setup machines and validate processes to meet customer quality and cycle time requirements.
• Perform machine acceptance runoff with customers at the Charlotte, NC facility and at their facilities post-installation.
• Provide customer personnel with machine operator training instruction and materials.
• Travel domestically and internationally to support machine runoffs and operator training.
• Maintain project schedules and meet customer deadlines.
• Attend customer pre-sale meetings and provide feedback to Engineering, Project Management, and Proposals groups.
• Understand Fanuc Diagnostic pages and PLC information to diagnose machine issues.
• Troubleshoot machine process issues including surface finish, chip control, and tool life.
• Set up PPG including changing fixtures and performing gage R&R.
• Work with Proposal Engineering to select tooling for new projects.
