The Fabricator role involves fabricating orthoses and prostheses to ensure optimal fit and function while adhering to quality standards.
Responsibilities
- Perform fabrication and repair of orthotic and/or prosthetic devices according to company quality and quantity standards.
- Train Associate Fabricators and peers several times a week.
- Act as an informal team lead within their workstream several times a week.
- Assist or perform ordering, receiving, and other inventory tasks as assigned.
- Work on three to four device types within a general orthotic or prosthetic workstream.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and orderly work environment.
- Adhere to all safety regulations and OSHA requirements.
- Comply with HIPAA and other regulatory compliance training issued by Hanger, Inc.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED with 1 year of experience in environments involving machinery, tools, woodworking, design, fabrication, or componentry; or 2 years of experience in O&P environments without a diploma; or a technical degree in Orthotics & Prosthetics from an accredited school.
- Knowledge and hand skills needed to fabricate and repair prostheses and orthoses according to specifications.
- Mechanical ability and hand-eye coordination to use laboratory tools safely and effectively.
- Effective organizational, time management, and planning skills.
- Good interpersonal and verbal skills for communication.
- Ability to work effectively as a team member.
- Ability to perform tasks as indicated on the Skills Matrix.
