Overview

Eaton’s ES AMER ARS division is seeking a Welder for the 1st shift, offering an hourly rate of $24/hr plus a $1/hr shift differential. The role involves working as part of a manufacturing team to achieve daily goals in the welding department.

Responsibilities

  • Perform MIG and TIG welding.
  • Work from manufacturing information, bills of material, and instructions.
  • Determine necessary parts/inventory and obtain materials from stock areas.
  • Assist other sheet metal fabricators/operators as required.
  • Deliver material to/from workstations using material handling equipment.
  • Operate spot welders and interface with robotic welding.
  • Complete preparation steps like wiping, degreasing, and grinding of components.
  • Document and record keeping as required.
  • Inspect parts and make necessary adjustments.
  • Maintain equipment and complete maintenance check sheets.
  • Perform other duties as required, including flexing to other departments.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum of one year of MIG and TIG welding experience or a technical diploma/certification in welding.
  • Candidates must reside within 50 miles of the work location.
  • No immigration sponsorship or support for this position.

What you'll be running

This posting calls for MIG and TIG work. MIG (GMAW) feeds a continuous wire electrode through a shielding-gas nozzle. It lays down metal fast and is forgiving on clean material, which is why it dominates production and light fabrication work. TIG (GTAW) uses a non-consumable tungsten electrode with filler added by hand, giving the operator the most control of any process. It is slow, demanding, and the standard for stainless, aluminum, and anything where the bead has to look as good as it holds.
