Overview

The Assembly Fitter or Welder role involves supporting the fabrication and assembly of enclosure components through welding and mechanical assembly tasks, ensuring safe and efficient production. The position requires adherence to quality standards and collaboration with team members to meet production goals.

Responsibilities

• Perform structural welding on enclosure components by following drawings and trained procedures.
• Perform basic mechanical assembly, including fitting panels, installing hardware and prepping components for welding or final assembly.
• Read and follow blueprints, drawings and work instructions to determine weld and assembly requirements.
• Complete tasks for roofs, doors and sub-assemblies (RDS) to support smooth production flow and ensure components meet dimensional and quality requirements.
• Support material movement and positioning using overhead cranes or rigging.
• Conduct visual weld checks, report defects and assist with rework.
• Maintain a clean, safe work area and follow all PPE requirements.
• Setup and teardown welding / assembly workstations.
• Collaborate with team members to meet daily production goals and maintain workflow.
• Perform other duties assigned by supervisor.

Requirements

• 1+ years experience in welding, fabrication or mechanical assembly in a manufacturing environment.
• 1+ years experience in structural fitting.
• Must be able to read blueprints.
• Basic proficiency with MIG welding.
• Must be able to read and use a tape measure.
• Ability to work in varying environmental conditions with exposure to fumes.
• Must be able to pass pre-employment drug screen and physical.
• Must be able to pass a background check.

Additional Information

• Night shift position.
• 80 to 90% of work activities are performed outdoors.
