Overview

Express Employment Professionals in Athens, TX is looking for a Structural Welding Technician with expertise in MIG welding to connect with a local company in Elkhart, TX. The ideal candidate should be able to read blueprints, execute multi-position welds, and meet AWS D1.1 quality standards.

Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate MIG welding equipment for structural steel
  • Review and apply blueprints, symbols, and fabrication drawings
  • Execute multi-position welds (flat/horizontal/vertical)
  • Inspect welds visually to ensure code compliance and quality
  • Follow AWS D1.1 structural welding code
  • Prep and finish welds with grinders, clamps, and hand tools
  • Work with a production team to achieve schedule and safety goals
  • Keep your work area clean and organized

Requirements

  • Must pass a FlexiblePass AWS D1.1 Weld Test with .035 Hardwire (pre-employment)
  • 2+ years of structural or industrial MIG welding experience (preferred)
  • Solid understanding of welding procedures, shop safety, and tools
  • Ability to interpret technical documents and blueprints
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for long periods
