Overview

The Welder I will perform basic welding tasks using various techniques and equipment under the supervision of experienced welders. This role contributes to the assembly and fabrication of metal components at Salford Group, a Linamar Company, which is committed to advancing farming practices through precision technology.

Responsibilities

• Read, understand, and follow job order specifications, engineering drawings, and/or work orders.
• Independently weld multiple parts accurately and efficiently with minimal supervision.
• Execute high-quality welds on parts, demonstrating proficiency and expertise.
• Set up basic welding equipment according to material properties and welding requirements.
• Locate current drawings, samples, and part specifications for reference.
• Operate preprogrammed welding robot.
• Adhere to standard operating procedures with minimal oversight.
• Demonstrate a capacity to work at an average pace while maintaining precision and accuracy.

Requirements

• High School Diploma is preferred.
• Must be able to pass internal weld test.
• Weld components as per Salford Group standards and specifications.
• Must be able to read and understand blueprints.
• Ability to lift up to 50lbs with assistance.
• Previous experience with 5S and Lean Manufacturing is an asset.
• Highly organized and proactive, able to work independently.
• Excellent time management skills.
• Must be able to communicate effectively both written and verbal.
• Ability to operate forklift and overhead crane (training provided).
• Positive attitude and ability to work well independently and in a team.
• Excellent hand-eye coordination, manual dexterity, and attention to detail.
