Overview

Phillips Tank & Structure (PTS) is a nationwide tank construction company specializing in designing, engineering, repairing, and constructing above-ground metal storage tanks. They are currently seeking a full-time Fabrication Shop Laborer/Welder Helper to perform various manual duties involving physical labor in a team-oriented environment.

Responsibilities

• Use non-power tools such as tape measures, squares, and hammers.
• Operate power or pneumatic tools including grinders and saws.
• Load and unload materials and equipment from trucks.
• Check incoming and outgoing material deliveries for accuracy.
• Move material around the shop or field site by hand or with equipment.
• Read cut sheets or drawings and operate saws for material cutting.
• Grind, bevel, or fit metals together using hand or power tools.
• Maintain a clean work area and follow safety procedures.
• Erect and dismantle temporary scaffolding as needed.
• Perform basic safety checks and maintenance on tools.
• Use safety equipment such as hardhats and gloves.
• Lift items weighing up to 50 lbs.
• Process paperwork associated with tasks.

Requirements

• Be at least 18 years old.
• Have a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Be eligible to work in the United States.
• Authorize a background check.
• Have no criminal convictions for dishonesty or serious offenses.
• Authorize motor vehicle driving record checks.
• Have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• Submit to drug and alcohol testing.
• Possess good communication skills.
• Demonstrate good attendance and punctuality.
• Have strong basic math and measuring skills.
• Have an eye for quality and attention to detail.
• Be self-motivated and eager to learn.

Additional Information

• Work schedule is 4 x 10 hour days from 6am to 4pm.
• Ability to work overtime.
