Overview

Sacoma Specialty Products is seeking a skilled MIG/TIG Welder to join their manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will have strong TIG welding skills, experience with various materials, and the ability to read blueprints in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Receive instructions, prints, and work orders for the job
• Plan details of working procedures and tools and material requirements
• Clean and prepare surfaces to be welded
• Perform MIG & TIG welding with no defects
• Fit and weld assemblies per job instructions and drawings
• Build up worn or defective surfaces
• Properly use fabrication shop hand tools
• Keep equipment and work area clean and orderly
• Monitor supplies such as gas and welding tips
• Perform necessary quality inspections to ensure parts meet guidelines
• Conduct operations in a manner that promotes safety and complies with OSHA and MDSD standards

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• AWS Certification desired
• 2+ years previous welding experience in a manufacturing environment
• Ability to MIG & TIG weld mild steel and 439 & 304 stainless steel
• Must be able to adjust the welder to achieve quality welds
• Ability to read blueprints
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Analytical and problem-solving skills
• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing concepts desired
• Compliance with all health and safety regulations, policies, and procedures
• Attention to detail
• Willingness and ability to work overtime
