Overview

The Shop Welder is responsible for ensuring the timely, accurate, and cost-effective completion of jobs and projects assigned by the Grounds Foreman. This role involves maintaining shop tools and equipment, as well as the welding truck and district maintenance fleet.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair company trucks.
  • Estimate materials, order and obtain materials as required, and inform supervisor of needs.
  • Maintain accountability of tools, equipment, and supplies.
  • Identify and resolve various repair problems to ensure proper job completion.
  • Maintain accurate records for proper completion of work orders.
  • Demonstrate an attitude of quality service, teamwork, and good public relations.
  • Function within the policies and administrative procedures of the Ector County Independent School District.
  • Be available for emergency call outs on evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Read and interpret technical materials and specifications.
  • Communicate effectively with a varied workforce.
  • Perform all other tasks and duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
  • Valid Texas driver's license.
  • General knowledge of welding.
