Responsibilities

• Fit and weld ASME code 100% x-ray coils.
• Clamp, hold, tack-weld, grind, and bolt components for welding.
• Examine workpieces for defects and measure for conformance with specifications.
• Develop templates and models for welding projects using mathematical calculations.
• Analyze engineering drawings and specifications for layout and welding operations.
• Maintain and complete all required records and production documentation.
• Layout fits for nozzles, supports, and couplings per blueprint into coil.
• Remove rough spots from workpieces using grinders, hand files, or scrapers.
• Maintain a safe work environment and report defective tools and equipment.
• Operate a forklift and crane.
• Comply with all safety rules and regulations.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Ability to pass ASME Code Section 8 Welding test.
• High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
• 2-year technical degree or vocational certificate in welding preferred.
• 4 to 5 years of relevant experience and/or training.
• Read and interpret blueprints and possess strong mathematical skills.
• Ability to use and read level, tapes, protractors, and various tools.
• Possess strong organizational skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently on assigned tasks.

Additional Information

• This is a full-time position.
• Days and hours of work are Monday through Thursday, 6:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
• Additional work hours and weekends may be required as job duties demand.
• The work environment is non-temperature-controlled with loud noises, dust, dirt, and metal particles.
