Responsibilities
- Fit and weld ASME code 100% x-ray coils.
- Clamp, hold, tack-weld, grind, and bolt components for welding.
- Examine workpieces for defects and measure for conformance with specifications.
- Develop templates and models for welding projects using mathematical calculations.
- Analyze engineering drawings and specifications for layout and welding operations.
- Maintain and complete all required records and production documentation.
- Layout fits for nozzles, supports, and couplings per blueprint into coil.
- Remove rough spots from workpieces using grinders, hand files, or scrapers.
- Maintain a safe work environment and report defective tools and equipment.
- Operate a forklift and crane.
- Comply with all safety rules and regulations.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Ability to pass ASME Code Section 8 Welding test.
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
- 2-year technical degree or vocational certificate in welding preferred.
- 4 to 5 years of relevant experience and/or training.
- Read and interpret blueprints and possess strong mathematical skills.
- Ability to use and read level, tapes, protractors, and various tools.
- Possess strong organizational skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently on assigned tasks.
Additional Information
- This is a full-time position.
- Days and hours of work are Monday through Thursday, 6:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
- Additional work hours and weekends may be required as job duties demand.
- The work environment is non-temperature-controlled with loud noises, dust, dirt, and metal particles.
