Overview

The position of Welder at Pearl Harbor NSY and IMF involves welding and cutting various metal components at Garden Island, Australia. The role requires expertise in welding techniques and inspections to ensure the integrity of welds.

Responsibilities

• Weld and cut various metal components, including pipes, pressure vessels, plates, structural forms, and machinery.
• Set up propane/oxygen acetylene preheating torches and heat shielding arrangements to control temperatures during repairs.
• Conduct in-process dye penetrant and magnetic particle inspections on completed welds to ensure defect-free work.
• Perform welding on rotating items to restore them to plan dimensions, including weld build-up of shafts.
