Overview

The Welder / Mechanic position involves inspecting and repairing various components of semi trucks and trailers, including brakes, electrical systems, and performing welding tasks. The ideal candidate should be experienced in working with heavy vehicles and able to work independently or as part of a team.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect and replace brakes, wheel seals, slack adjusters, etc.
  • Inspect and replace U-joints, yokes, pinion seals, driveline.
  • Inspect and repair truck and trailer suspension.
  • Replace clutches and flywheels.
  • Remove and replace differentials.
  • Troubleshoot and repair electrical systems, charging and starting.
  • Occasional lube and service of trucks.
  • Perform welding tasks including arc, MIG, and TIG welding, air-arc, and torch cutting.
  • Perform federal annual vehicle inspection.
  • Perform periodic MC cargo tank inspections.

Requirements

  • Experienced working with semi trucks and trailers.
  • Self-starter.
  • Able to work independently and with a team.

  • Hours are Monday to Friday from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM with possible overtime.
