Overview

Wieland is a global leader in copper and copper alloy manufacturing, processing, and distribution. They are hiring skilled and experienced Welders for 1st shift positions, responsible for welding operations, adhering to safety regulations, and maintaining records.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare parts and tack and weld components into assemblies following production orders.
  • Execute welds in accordance to company procedures and documents, while meeting defined quality standards.
  • Maintain a safe and organized working environment.
  • Properly maintain tools and equipment assigned to perform duties.

Requirements

  • Level I: 1–3 years experience or education from trade school; capable of MIG and TIG welding but not yet certified for welding under pressure.
  • Level II: At least 3–5 years' experience in MIG and TIG welding of pipe or pressure vessels; certified with the company for welding under pressure.
  • Level III: At least 5+ years’ experience in MIG and TIG welding of pipe or pressure vessels; ability to train other welders.
  • Ability to read and apply WPS and read drawings.
  • Strong aptitude for problem solving and teamwork.
  • Ability to perform work in various physical positions and in a heavy industrial setting.

What you'll be running

This posting calls for MIG and TIG work. MIG (GMAW) feeds a continuous wire electrode through a shielding-gas nozzle. TIG (GTAW) uses a non-consumable tungsten electrode with filler added by hand, giving the operator the most control of any process. It is slow, demanding, and the standard for stainless, aluminum, and anything where the bead has to look as good as it holds.
