Overview

Rivian is on a mission to keep the world adventurous forever by building emissions-free Electric Adventure Vehicles. The Sr. Electronics Assembly Technician will perform hands-on assembly, testing, and troubleshooting for electric power conversion systems in a prototype environment, collaborating closely with design engineering.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with engineering to troubleshoot board failures and run functional tests using multimeters and power supplies.
  • Support wire harness builds, maintain inventory/kitting, document build logs, and draft work instructions.
  • Build and solder prototype power electronics, performing precision PCBA rework based on engineering dispositions.
  • Interpret electrical schematics, assembly drawings, and design specs to assist engineering in troubleshooting.
  • Inspect circuit boards per IPC standards and fabricate wire harness assemblies per IPC/WHMA-A-620C guidelines.
  • Support factory production during NPI and production transitions, manage material inventories, and maintain equipment.

Requirements

  • Associate degree in Electrical Engineering Technology, Electronics, or an equivalent technical field.
  • Minimum 3+ years of hands-on experience in PCBA assembly, electronic testing, and electro-mechanical prototype environments.
  • Hands-on experience performing soldering to IPC Class 3 standards.
  • Proficiency with IPC-A-610 and J-STD-001 standards.
  • Practical knowledge of IPC/WHMA-A-620C guidelines for cable and wire harness assembly.
  • Experience working within strict Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) protected areas and protocols.
  • Solid command of standard laboratory test gear, including digital multimeters and DC power supplies.
  • Proven ability to read and interpret complex electrical schematics and engineering drawings.
  • Circuit board testing and diagnostic experience, including electro-mechanical control circuits.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills for collaboration across departments.
  • Working knowledge of Google Workspace and JIRA for task tracking and documentation.
