Job Description

Overview

LRS is an industry leader in providing innovative and environmentally responsible waste and recycling solutions. The Apprentice Mechanic - 3rd Shift is responsible for troubleshooting and repairing mechanical problems in heavy vehicles and industrial equipment, ensuring operational readiness and safety.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains, repairs and overhauls heavy vehicles and industrial equipment.
  • Interprets work orders and technical manuals.
  • Keeps equipment clean, lubricated and maintained.
  • Diagnoses faults or malfunctions.
  • Adjusts equipment and repairs or replaces defective parts, components or systems.
  • Obeys all workplace health and safety and code of conduct workplace rules.
  • Undertakes the training and assessment required under the training plan.

Requirements

  • Ability to perform physical requirements of the job.
  • Repetitive lifting, pushing, pulling and climbing.
  • Ability to work in all weather conditions.
  • Excellent diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
  • Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
  • Waste industry experience is a plus.
  • Completion of college or vocational or technical training is a plus.
  • Experience with routine maintenance operations is required.
  • A valid CDL driver license is a plus.
  • Must be 21 years of age or older.

Additional Information

  • Work schedule is 3rd Shift from 10:00pm to 6:00am.
