Overview

Bel-Aire Mechanical, a Legence Company, has been a leader in mechanical and plumbing services for over 35 years, employing over 400 professionals in Phoenix, Arizona. The QA QC Technician will be responsible for quality control of materials and fabrication processes to ensure compliance with quality standards.

Responsibilities

  • Receipt and control of purchased material and equipment.
  • Perform visual inspections for faulty or damaged material upon delivery.
  • Ensure work is executed and examined as per the Quality Plan and contract specifications.
  • Conduct dimensional and orientation verifications from spool drawings.
  • Examine weld quality on spool welds.
  • Verify spool information and completion of required documentation.
  • Tag each spool with designated identification.
  • Install protective caps/plugs in all openings on the spool.
  • Store fabricated spools in an approved staging area.
  • Notify the fabrication manager when spools are complete and ready for shipment.
  • Submit weekly reports to the Quality Manager.

Requirements

  • Must pass visual examination requirements or be an AWS Certified Welding Inspector or possess ASNT VT Level II Certification.
  • Have sufficient background and training in visual examination of materials, welds, brazed and bonded joints.
  • Basic familiarity with welding, brazing, bonding processes, and understanding of documentation, weld symbols, drawings, and metallurgy.
  • Familiar with Visual Examination tools such as Fillet Weld Gauge and V-Wac Gauge.
  • Possess at least 2 years of weld examination experience.
  • Excellent computer and software skills, including word processing and spreadsheets.
  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Ability to work well with others.
