Overview

The Mechanical Helper at Veolia is responsible for assisting mechanics in repairing, installing, and troubleshooting facility equipment under the direction of the site supervisor. This role involves various maintenance tasks to ensure the safe and efficient operation of equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Perform equipment lubrication.
  • Change air filters and maintain air handlers.
  • Keep records and manage work requests.
  • Replace lighting and ballasts, and conduct electrical installations and troubleshooting.
  • Perform plumbing tasks, including drain clearing and faucet repairs.
  • Maintain air compressors, including oil changes and exchanger cleaning.
  • Clean pumps and strainers.
  • Maintain exhaust systems and change belts.
  • Clean cooling coils and adjust temperatures.
  • Clean heating coils and perform steam boiler repairs.

Requirements

  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license.
  • High School Diploma, GED, or suitable equivalent is required.
  • Must be physically able to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to work in potential hazards such as a chemical environment.
  • Basic knowledge of electrical, mechanical, plumbing, and HVAC operations.
  • Utilization of basic tools and specialized equipment to perform maintenance functions.
  • Ability to follow direction and work in a fast-paced team environment.
