Overview

Brunswick, a global marine leader, is seeking a Welder/Fabricator to join their team. The role involves metal fabrication and welding, contributing to the construction of new product mold tooling and various production support equipment.

Responsibilities

• Perform MIG and TIG welding on steel and aluminum components and assemblies.
• Conduct metal fabrication activities including cutting, grinding, drilling, fitting, bending, tack welding, finishing, and assembly.
• Measure, lay out, cut, fit, align, and weld components to required dimensions and specifications.
• Operate fabrication equipment including cold saws, band saws, chop saws, grinders, drills, plasma cutters, torches, and other tools.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, fabrication prints, and weld symbols.
• Fabricate components and assemblies from engineering prints, drawings, sketches, samples, or measurements.
• Modify components when detailed prints are not available by taking accurate measurements.
• Perform fit-up and alignment of steel and aluminum components prior to welding.
• Fabricate and repair items such as frames, brackets, supports, and other welded assemblies.
• Inspect completed work for weld quality, dimensional accuracy, fit, alignment, and overall workmanship.
• Identify fabrication problems and recommend practical solutions.
• Complete assigned fabrication work within established schedules.
• Maintain welding machines, fabrication equipment, hand tools, and work areas.
• Interface effectively with other employees, supervisors, and managers.
• Support departmental 6S initiatives and follow safety standards.
• Report observed safety concerns to a supervisor.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED; or 1+ years of related experience or training.
• Proven experience as a welder with various welding equipment and procedures.
• Knowledge of safety standards and use of PPE.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering blueprints.
• Proficiency with metal fabrication tools.
• Ability to understand and exchange information accurately.
