Overview

Howmet Fastening Systems (HFS) is seeking a Processing Tech II in Torrance, CA. HFS is a leader in aerospace fastening systems and commercial transportation fasteners, providing critical components for various industries.

Responsibilities

  • Operates various standard and specialized machines after setup by others.
  • Reads and interprets blueprints and specifications to perform assigned operations.
  • Inspects representative samples of each plating load to ensure proper coverage and adhesion.
  • Measures plating thickness utilizing x-ray method and instruments such as micrometer, magna-gage, and dermitron.
  • Performs related tasks in assigned departments, including sorting parts and cleaning parts free of oil and grease.
  • Trains other operators as required and performs tasks of equal or lesser skill as assigned.
  • Keeps the work area clean, safe, and orderly daily.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED preferred.
  • Minimum 1-2 years of manufacturing plating experience preferred.
  • Proficient in the use of precision measuring instruments and gauges.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and engineering drawings.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of manufacturing and quality processes.
  • Employee must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
