Overview

McGill Environmental Systems is hiring a Welder Fabricator for their facility in Delray Beach, FL, offering a hands-on role that emphasizes quality workmanship, safety, and career growth. The position involves welding, metal fabrication, equipment repairs, and industrial maintenance support.

Responsibilities

  • Perform welding, cutting, and fabrication of steel, aluminum, and other metals.
  • Repair and modify conveyors, screens, hoppers, bins, and production equipment.
  • Fabricate parts and structures from concepts, drawings, and specifications.
  • Operate welding equipment including MIG, TIG, Stick, and Arc welders.
  • Use plasma cutters, torches, hand tools, and power tools.
  • Repair and reinforce industrial equipment to minimize downtime.
  • Assist with machinery installations and facility improvement projects.
  • Follow all safety procedures, hot-work requirements, and PPE guidelines.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
  • Support maintenance and production teams as needed.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Previous welding and fabrication experience in an industrial, manufacturing, construction, or production environment.
  • Experience with MIG, TIG, Stick, and Arc welding preferred.
  • Ability to read drawings, sketches, and specifications.
  • Experience using fabrication tools, plasma cutters, torches, and power tools.
  • Mechanical aptitude and strong troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Reliable transportation to the Delray Beach facility.
  • Strong commitment to safety and quality.

What you'll be running

This posting calls for MIG and TIG work. MIG (GMAW) feeds a continuous wire electrode through a shielding-gas nozzle. It lays down metal fast and is forgiving on clean material, which is why it dominates production and light fabrication work. TIG (GTAW) uses a non-consumable tungsten electrode with filler added by hand, giving the operator the most control of any process. It is slow, demanding, and the standard for stainless, aluminum, and anything where the bead has to look as good as it holds.
