Overview

At Northrop Grumman, employees work on revolutionary systems that impact lives globally. The company seeks a Composite Bonder level 2 for its operations team in El Segundo, CA, focusing on bonding dissimilar materials into finished products.

Responsibilities

  • Read and interpret blueprints.
  • Lay out articles, cut parts or materials to size, and apply bonding agents.
  • Understand ply orientations and vacuum bagging processes.
  • Operate autoclave, hydraulic presses, and ovens to complete bonding cycles.
  • Control heat, pressure, and timing according to specifications.
  • Sand, burs, and smooth areas, applying sealing resins to cut or exposed edges.
  • Monitor and verify quality of finished products.
  • Complete repairs on bonded products using inspection and rework instructions.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED with 2 years of relatable composite fabrication or bonding experience.
  • Must have current or prior lamination experience.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain U.S. Government Secret Security Clearance.
  • Ability to perform moderate strenuous physical work including lifting up to 35 pounds.
  • Must be able to access small, confined spaces and work in an enclosed environment.
  • Ability to work flexible, changing shifts, including weekends.
  • Must pass New Hire Training/Compliance and a New Hire Physical Exam.
