Overview

The Utility Person role at Hood Container requires a candidate with manufacturing experience, problem-solving skills, and a desire to learn. The successful applicant will perform general cleanup, assist with startup, and other assigned duties in a corrugated packaging environment.

Responsibilities

  • Perform general cleanup and assist with startup.
  • Verify all set-ups are correct.
  • Maintain accurate records on specific customers for caliper.
  • Demonstrate mechanical aptitude to troubleshoot machine problems.
  • Perform basic record-keeping and documentation functions.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Six consecutive months of manufacturing, industrial or warehouse experience is required.
  • Corrugator experience is a plus.
  • Ability to stand for up to 12 hours.
  • Ability to work in hot, humid, noisy, and high-volume machine production area.
  • Ability to work 12-hour shifts, overtime, weekends, and holidays as required.
  • Self-motivated and committed to safety and organizational goals.
  • Ability to read a tape measure.
  • Effective interpersonal skills and ability to follow verbal/written instructions.
  • Team-oriented and flexible.
