Overview

Nova Space Solutions, LLC (NSS) is a joint venture that supports critical missions as a government contractor. The Welder position involves performing welds using arc and T.I.G. welding processes at the Stennis Space Center in MS.

Responsibilities

  • Works from blueprints, sketches, and/or verbal instructions.
  • Assembles and welds iron, steel, aluminum, stainless steel and other alloys.
  • Performs welds using arc and T.I.G. welding processes; uses oxygen/acetylene torch and cutting/notching equipment.
  • Determines fabrication, repair, or modification requirements and methods to be followed.
  • Constructs stand and jigs for weldments.
  • Troubleshoots and adjusts welding/burning equipment.
  • Assembles and connects welding apparatus including tanks, regulators, hoses, torches and tips.
  • Performs other work of related skills.
  • May be asked to assist with or complete work in other craft areas.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High school graduate or GED equivalent.
  • Must be certified in accordance with AWS specifications and Stennis Space Center standards or must pass performance test.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen in order to obtain required NASA badge.
  • Must be able to provide a certified Birth Certificate, Passport, or INS Citizenship documents on date of hire.
  • Must have the ability to communicate the English language, both verbally and written, in an effective manner.
  • Must have, and maintain, a valid driver’s license.
  • Good organizational and planning skills.
