Overview

The State of California is seeking a Structural Steel Painter Supervisor to oversee painting operations and supervise staff involved in the maintenance of structural steel, including bridges and related facilities. The position is based in Los Angeles County and is part of Caltrans, which aims to improve lives and communities through transportation.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise Lead Structural Steel Painters, Structural Steel Painters, and Apprentices.
  • Engage in rigging for painting and cleaning of structural cables and bridges.
  • Supervise inspection duties on contracted structural steel painting assignments.
  • Responsible for statewide review of structural steel paint inspection reports.
  • Draft painting contracts and special provisions, and make estimates.

Requirements

  • Possession of a valid and unrestricted Class A driver license with H and N endorsements.
  • Eligibility based on score from the STRUCTURAL STEELPAINTER SUPERVISOR exam.
  • Verification of Minimum Qualifications prior to interview or appointment.
