Overview

Graywolf Integrated Construction is seeking traveling QA/QC CWI in Iva, SC. The company is a heavy industrial/commercial construction contractor with over 45 years of experience, providing end-to-end solutions and fostering a culture of Safety, Quality, and Performance.

Responsibilities

  • Provide quality inspections regarding welding and welder's certifications, pressure vessels, heat exchangers and boilers, piping, mechanical equipment, painting and coatings, structural steel and fabricated materials.
  • Experience or working with codes such as ASME B&PV, ASME B31.1 and B31.3, NBIC, API, AWS, ACI, AISC, RCSC.
  • Read and interpret various codes, standards and specifications.
  • Familiarity with Liquid Penetrant testing, Magnetic Particle testing, Ultrasonic testing, and radiography.
  • Schedule and perform all inspection and testing activities as defined by contract.
  • Assess sub-contractors' capabilities to meet quality requirements.
  • Ensure adherence to contract obligations for testing and record keeping.
  • Control calibrated measuring and test equipment used on the project.
  • Maintain calibration records and ensure all testing equipment is current.
  • Ensure proper turnover of complete quality control package(s).
  • Maintain project quality records and quality audit plans.
  • Evaluate sub-contractors' facilities for quality requirements.
  • Conduct periodic Quality Program training and coaching for site supervisory personnel.
  • Perform other duties as required by the QA/QC Department.

Requirements

  • Four years of formal training and experience in heavy industrial projects.
  • Current CWI certification required.
  • Experience in understanding WPSs, PQRs, and WPQs.
  • Ability to effectively interact with project team members, clients, subcontractors, and craft employees.
  • Must be capable of obtaining or possessing inspection licenses and/or certifications.
  • Read, write and communicate in English sufficient to perform job functions.
  • Must be able to communicate and document via company web mail programs.
  • Must successfully complete all required pre-hire requirements.

Additional Information

  • Lift and carry heavy items weighing up to 45 pounds.
  • Work up to a 12-hour shift in varying temperature extremes and other outside conditions.
  • Climb and maintain balance on steel framework, stairs, ladders, and scaffolds.
