Responsibilities

  • Diagnose causes of malfunctions using technical electronic diagnostics and precision instruments.
  • Start and operate equipment to verify corrections of malfunctions.
  • Inspect, adjust, clean, and lubricate equipment as part of preventive maintenance.
  • Repair and maintain industrial equipment including conveying systems and major machine centers.
  • Read and understand drawings and printed instructions.
  • Move machinery and equipment using hoists, dollies, rollers, and trucks.
  • Adjust tension on nuts and bolts and position parts using hand tools.
  • Align machines and equipment using various tools.
  • Assemble and install equipment using hand and power tools.
  • Dismantle machines using hand tools.
  • Remain current in technical changes by attending classes as needed.
  • Work rotating shifts, holidays, weekends, and overtime as required.
  • Adhere to safety rules and regulations.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Two years or more of experience installing, troubleshooting, and repairing heavy equipment.
  • Experience with precision alignment of motors, couplings, bearings, and pumps.
  • Experience troubleshooting issues with bearings, chains, sprockets, gearboxes, and conveyors.
  • Experience reading blueprints.
  • Experience with fabrication, cutting with a torch, and welding with an arc welder.
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment.
