Overview

Saulsbury Industries is seeking a Pipeline Welding Inspector to ensure the quality of work on a 12-mile pipeline project in the Permian Basin, Texas. The inspector will report to the Site Quality Manager and Project Manager, applying their skills to inspect materials and equipment for conformance to specifications.

Responsibilities

• Promote and comply with all Company safety policies and procedures.
• Inspect and ensure the quality of work performed during daily activities on a pipeline project.
• Have a working knowledge of the code(s) of construction being used for the project.
• Demonstrate good organizational, planning and time management skills.
• Conduct daily activities in a highly organized manner to ensure all QC data are properly recorded.
• Monitor and record all work as required by the Quality Inspection Test Plan (QITP).
• Prevent deficiencies through pre-construction quality control inspections.
• Detect and address deficiencies in a timely manner.
• Inspect the work and establish punch lists.
• Ensure daily quality task schedules are met to meet the project schedule.
• Work closely with the Client and field quality staff to ensure QA/QC requirements are followed.
• Interface with field supervision to maintain open communication.
• Interact cross-functionally with craft personnel and other team members.
• Maintain complete and accurate records during inspections.
• Determine the calibration status of measuring and test equipment.
• Maintain a professional appearance.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• AWS CWI Certification (Required)
• API 1169 Certification (Preferred)
• Pipeline coating experience required (AMPP/NACE not mandatory)
• Valid driver's license with a good driving record (Required)
• Pass a background check (Required)
• Pass a pre-employment drug test and quarterly random drug testing (Required)
• 2 or more years of Oil/Gas/or Pipeline experience (Preferred)
• 2 or more years of verifiable QA/QC or NDE experience (Preferred)
• Proficiency in computers including Microsoft Office (Preferred)

Additional Information

• Must be able to work occasional nights and weekends.
• Typical work hours range from 40 to 60 hours per week, 5-6 days per week.
