Overview

The Tank Welder supports the fabrication and assembly of generator enclosure fuel tanks and assemblies for large-scale generators, ensuring structural integrity and weld quality.

Responsibilities

  • Perform required welding processes on sheet metal components for fuel tank fabrication.
  • Utilize welding equipment and hand tools such as grinders and cutting torches.
  • Read and interpret measurements using a tape measure.
  • Prepare materials for welding by measuring, marking, cutting, grinding, beveling, and fitting components.
  • Follow detailed blueprints and work instructions to complete welding projects.
  • Lift and maneuver metal components safely and efficiently.
  • Perform pressure tests to ensure welds meet quality and safety requirements.
  • Conduct visual weld checks, report defects, and assist with rework.
  • Maintain a clean, safe work area and follow all PPE requirements.
  • Collaborate with team members to meet daily production goals.
  • Perform other duties assigned by supervisor.

Requirements

  • 1+ years experience in welding.
  • Must be able to pass a 3G/4G welding test.
  • Must be able to pass a pressure test.
  • Must be able to read blueprints.
  • Must be able to read and use a tape measure.
  • Ability to work in varying environmental conditions with exposure to fumes.
  • Must be able to work night shift.
  • Must be able to pass pre-employment drug screen and physical.
  • Must be able to pass a background check.
  • Previous experience welding fuel tanks, storage tanks, pressure vessels, or similar containment systems is desirable.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent is preferred.
