Overview

L3Harris is seeking a Welder Journeyman for their Canoga Park, CA location, dedicated to providing high-performing talent in defense technology. The role involves welding various metals for products related to space exploration and national defense, while promoting a work-life balance in an inclusive environment.

Responsibilities

  • Setup weld operations and understand requirements for weld acceptance criteria.
  • Weld company products by certified processes maintaining critical alignment tolerances.
  • Be flexible in job and process, including manual and in-place GTAW welding.
  • Pass and maintain all required certifications training requirements.
  • Pass an appearance test at the time of interview.
  • Demonstrate a proven safety record and experience with PPE.
  • Work overtime based on current production needs.

Requirements

  • High School graduate or equivalent preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in related fields.
  • Fabrication/Welding schooling or equivalent can substitute for years of experience on a 2 to 1 basis.
  • Three years' G.T.A.W. experience welding hard alloys to class 'A' requirements preferred.
  • Experience welding duct assemblies and controlling weld distortion and shrinkage preferred.
  • Experience reading and using planning and drawings to meet specifications preferred.
  • Prior experience welding rocket engines and propulsion systems preferred.
  • Prior certification in In-Place-Tube, Automatic, or Robotic Welding preferred.
  • Prior certification to D17.1 or equivalent Journeyman certification preferred.
