Overview

The New York City Police Department is seeking an Oiler to assist in the operations and maintenance of facility equipment, ensuring safe and efficient operation across over 250 Department Facilities Citywide. The role is vital for maintaining equipment such as boilers, pumps, and air conditioning systems, contributing to the overall mission of enhancing the quality of life in New York City.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the operations and maintenance of facility equipment such as boilers, furnaces, and generators.
  • Lubricate and clean pumps, engines, blowers, compressors, motors, gears, and ejectors.

Requirements

  • Three years of full-time satisfactory experience in the lubrication, maintenance, and repair of mechanical equipment.
  • One and one-half years of experience plus graduation from an approved trade, technical, or vocational high school or completion of an approved internship program.
  • One year of experience plus an associate degree from an accredited school in mechanical technology.
  • Demonstrate strong and thoroughness in all aspects of daily work.
  • Must be a team player with an energetic positive disposition.
  • Able to identify deadlines and work effectively in a pressurized environment.
