Overview

The Mechanical Technician will utilize their professional and technical knowledge to improve operating systems, enhance product quality, and find cost-effective solutions while performing maintenance tasks on machinery and equipment to ensure safe and effective plant operations.

Responsibilities

  • Enter work orders into computer systems and track parts in stock.
  • Perform maintenance and repairs on various mechanical and physical structures using sketches, blueprints, and drawings.
  • Determine equipment shutdown priorities through preventative maintenance and diagnostics.
  • Evaluate engineering equipment and examine procedures for relevance.
  • Identify potential mechanical problems and participate in process improvement efforts.
  • Collaborate with team members to resolve issues and recommend improvements.
  • Manage vendors and contractors to enhance output and maintain safety.
  • Assist with operations to maintain workflow and meet schedules.
  • Keep the work area clean and organized while following safety protocols.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • An Associate’s degree from a two-year college or technical school, or high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of five years of experience in a related field is preferred.
  • Excellent communication, analytical, documentation, and computer skills required.
  • Strong electrical, mechanical, and troubleshooting experience is required.
  • Experience in welding and machining is preferred.
