Overview

The Senior Welder role is a full-time, on-site position responsible for performing advanced welding operations on components and assemblies used in high-power RF equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Perform advanced welding operations on components and assemblies following detailed blueprints and technical specifications.
  • Set up and operate welding equipment, selecting appropriate materials and processes.
  • Inspect welds for quality and adherence to standards, completing repairs or rework as needed.
  • Collaborate closely with engineers, production staff, and quality teams to ensure welded parts meet requirements.
  • Maintain welding tools and equipment, following all safety protocols.
  • Mentor less experienced welders to support continuous improvement in the shop.

Requirements

  • Strong proficiency in multiple welding processes (e.g., MIG, TIG, stick).
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and welding symbols.
  • Demonstrated experience in fabrication, fitting, and assembly work.
  • Knowledge of welding safety standards and practices.
  • Experience with quality inspection of welds and ability to identify and correct defects.
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Ability to lift and handle materials safely and perform physically demanding tasks.
  • Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with teams.
  • Relevant welding certifications (e.g., AWS or equivalent) are preferred.

What you'll be running

This posting calls for MIG and TIG work. MIG (GMAW) feeds a continuous wire electrode through a shielding-gas nozzle. It lays down metal fast and is forgiving on clean material, which is why it dominates production and light fabrication work.
