Job Description

Overview

The Construction & Plant Maintenance position involves all aspects of plant construction, repair, and maintenance, including steel fabrication and welding. Candidates should have knowledge of electrical and plumbing practices, experience with heavy machinery, and be willing to travel for work. This is an onsite role based in Macon, Georgia, with typical hours from 6:00am to 4:30pm.

Responsibilities

  • Perform plant construction, repair, and maintenance tasks.
  • Assist in equipment inspections and identify conditions.
  • Report plant and equipment conditions to appropriate personnel.
  • Repair, replace, disassemble, and reassemble plant processing equipment.
  • Fabricate and erect steel structures.
  • Provide a variety of welding and construction services.
  • Maintain shop and processing equipment.
  • Train other technical level employees.
  • Work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Stand, walk, or sit for extended periods and perform physical tasks.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Two-year technical degree or accredited apprenticeship preferred.
  • Skilled construction experience preferred.
  • 3 years prior experience in aggregate maintenance or related fields preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
  • Experience welding and cutting with a torch.
  • Knowledge of steel fabrication and erection.
  • Excellent mechanical and troubleshooting skills.
  • Basic electrical and plumbing skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Additional Information

  • This is an onsite position in Macon, Georgia.
  • Typical hours are from 6:00am to 4:30pm.
  • Travel to other facilities and overnight travel will be required.
  • Must be willing to work any shift and overtime as required.
