Overview

Emerson is seeking a Machinist for a 2nd shift position in Pasadena, TX, responsible for fabricating and repairing Fisher OEM control valve parts using various machining techniques. The role emphasizes safety and quality in work.

Responsibilities

  • Be responsible for personal safety and for the safety of others, maintaining excellent housekeeping standards.
  • Set-up, indicate, and machine raw material to manufacture Fisher parts to OEM print dimensions.
  • Cross-train on all machines to prevent lapse in production flow.
  • Understand material hardness, cutting tools, speeds and feeds, coolant requirements, and machining techniques.
  • Interpret geometric dimensioning and tolerances (GD&T) per part drawings.
  • Potential for field assignments using in-line machine, with some travel required.
  • Adhere to all safety, quality, and environmental rules and regulations.

Requirements

  • Mechanical related Associates degree or 7+ years of experience with machining and fabricating.
  • Minimum 5 years of full-cycle machining experience, including programming, setup, and operation of machines.
  • Working knowledge of CAD/CAM (MasterCam) & SolidWorks’ modeling.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings.
  • Ability to use precision measuring instruments.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer relations skills.
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States.

  • 2nd Shift – Monday through Friday, 3:00 PM – 11:30 AM.
  • Pay Rate: $30.29 – $43.18 per hour, commensurate with experience.
