Job Description

Overview

Vast is developing next-generation space stations and infrastructure with a focus on low-cost and hardware-rich approaches. They are seeking an Avionics Manufacturing Technician, Wire Harnessing to support the development of systems for artificial-gravity human-rated space stations, working closely with engineering teams on technical electrical builds.

Responsibilities

  • Construct superior wire cables and perform PCB assembly rework.
  • Assemble and test racks/systems, electro-mechanical units, engineering enclosures, and test equipment.
  • Assist avionics engineering by rapidly iterating electronic components and cables.
  • Comprehend cable wiring diagrams and schematics.
  • Collaborate with engineering to transform concepts into reality.
  • Monitor work progress against established standards and deliver all work on schedule.
  • Examine, interpret, and use drawings and regulated documentation and procedures.
  • Understand intricate cable harnesses, wiring diagrams, and mechanical layout drawings.
  • Verify flight hardware and document outcomes thoroughly.
  • Aid in developing manufacturing processes for initial production runs.
  • Contribute to projects aimed at increasing operational efficiency.

Requirements

  • 1+ years of experience manufacturing wire harnesses in the commercial or aerospace industry utilizing D38999 connectors.
  • 1+ years of experience using electronics equipment such as programmable power supplies, DMMs, and oscilloscopes.
  • 1+ years of experience using basic mechanical and/or electronics hand tools.
  • High school diploma or equivalency certificate.
  • 3+ years of experience manufacturing wire harnesses in the commercial or aerospace industry utilizing D38999 connectors (preferred).
  • 2+ years of experience using electronics equipment (preferred).
  • 5+ years of experience using basic mechanical and/or electronics hand tools (preferred).
  • Possession of an associate degree (preferred).
  • Experience in a high-speed production environment handling flight hardware (preferred).
  • Ability to acclimate to frequently changing assignments and a fast-paced working environment.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Superb focus and attention to detail.
