Job Description

Overview

Ameren Missouri has been providing electric and gas service for over 100 years, serving 1.2 million electric and 132,000 natural gas customers in central and eastern Missouri. The Certified Repairman role involves precision welding and heavy mechanical repair work at the Sioux Energy Center in West Alton, Missouri.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot and perform electric arc and gas welding, cutting, brazing, pipefitting, and insulation installation/removal on power plant equipment.
  • Perform certified welding on boiler pressure parts, pressure vessels, and piping in accordance with ASME codes.
  • Execute mechanical maintenance including repair/replacement of boiler tubes and structural steel erection.
  • Replace liner plates in fans, coal chutes, and hoppers.
  • Conduct welding repairs to castings and equipment.
  • Perform piping/valve work including measuring, layout, cutting, threading, bending, fitting, and installation.
  • Replace flange, valve, and heater gaskets; valve repacking, repair, and overhaul.
  • Clean and replace condenser and heat exchanger tubes.
  • Repair traveling water screens where applicable.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Completion of a 2 year technical college program and 5 years working as a Certified Welder Repairman, or completion of a certified apprentice program and 5 years working as a Certified Welder Repairman, or ten years working as a Certified Welder Repairman.
  • Ability to climb ramps, ladders, and stairs, work at heights and in confined spaces.
