Overview

The Sr Fabrication Lead directs the fabrication and assembly of pipe products at TAS, a Houston-headquartered company known for its innovative modular systems used in various applications, including data centers and utilities.

Responsibilities

• Fabricate pipes to required customizations.
• Manage all Work Orders associated with fabrication.
• Supervise work team in the planning and execution of fabrication.
• Plan resource requirements based on Work Orders and production plan.
• Foster a spirit of teamwork within the department.
• Track, assign, and monitor work orders.
• Ensure timeliness, safety, and quality of material movement.
• Responsible for safe work practices and maintaining a safe work environment.
• Train employees on changes in safety regulations and work policies.
• Develop skills and abilities of team members.
• Ensure all department employees complete the required training.
• Encourage a respectful and professional work environment.
• Build a culture of professionalism throughout operations.
• Provide valuable insight and information for overall shop performance.
• Ensure all quality and industry standards are achieved.
• Identify and provide effective solutions to problems.

Requirements

• High school diploma.
• Two years of pipe or structural fabrication experience.
• Knowledge of team leading practices and techniques.
• Ability to effectively coordinate and supervise multiple work orders.
• Able to make decisions.
• Commitment to continual improvement and effective quality management systems.
• Professional manner in dealing with others.
• Ability to read blueprints and follow product specification instructions.
• Understanding of the production and Work Order process.
• Experience in managing people.

Additional Information

• Work performed in a shop environment.
• Physical effort equal to frequent moving of up to 50lbs materials.
• Ability to stand up to 10 hours a day and up to 6 days a week.
• Steel-toe boots required in Manufacturing Facility.
• The use of Safety Glasses is required.
• The use of earplugs is recommended.
