Overview

The Small Parts Fitter Welder role at Valmont involves interpreting drawings and fabricating small parts while ensuring quality and adherence to specifications. Valmont is a Fortune 1000 company focused on advancing agricultural productivity and infrastructure to improve lives globally.

Responsibilities

• Use shop mathematics to perform calculations.
• Read drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
• Fit parts to specifications and tolerances.
• Operate MIG and/or Flux Core welding equipment.
• Use GMAW and/or FCAW processes for welding assemblies.
• Read and interpret work orders and production schedules.
• Document work completed in a daily production log.
• Follow safety procedures and use proper safety equipment.
• Understand the use of equipment in the arms area and small parts.
• Assemble parts using various tools and equipment.
• Perform visual inspections for quality assurance.
• Measure weld size using a weld gauge.
• Lift, push, and pull up to 50 pounds frequently.
• Operate forklifts and electric pallet jacks.
• Use cranes to lift and position heavy components.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Must be able to read and write English.
• Ability to use common manufacturing math.
• 1 year experience reading and using blueprints.
• 1 year experience in a manufacturing or fabrication environment or completion of a Technical Training Program in welding.
• Must pass GMAW and FCAW weld test and maintain certification.

Additional Information

• Days 1st Shift Standard Schedule: Monday - Friday 7AM - 3PM.
• Work hours may be required outside the standard shift schedule.
