Overview

Under the direction of a Track Supervisor, this position involves welding and related tasks that support the maintenance, repair, and construction of freight and passenger railroad track with a focus on safety.

Responsibilities

  • Direct and instruct equipment operators in safe and efficient work performance.
  • Train welder helpers to provide safe and efficient relief for the position.
  • Ensure all tools, equipment, materials, and supplies are maintained, used, and stored properly.
  • Prepare and maintain payroll, production reports, accident and injury reports, and personnel reports.
  • Adhere to all FEC Safety Policies and Procedures.
  • Perform other duties or tasks as assigned by the manager.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED; one to three months related experience and/or training.
  • Must have a valid driver's license and CDL Class B.
  • Ability to work a non-standard work week, overtime, and various shifts.
  • Familiarity with FRA Track Safety Standards Part 213 Subpart A to G.
  • At least one year of responsible supervisory experience in track maintenance in Class 4 or higher.
  • Capable of operating all FEC Maintenance of Way vehicles in its fleet.
  • Must complete all requirements to obtain FRA A & B certifications within 30 working days.

Additional Information

  • Start date scheduled for October 5, 2026.
  • Paid training will commence in New Smyrna Beach, Florida for two weeks.
  • Work schedule is 0700-1800 Sunday - Wednesday, with days off Thursday, Friday, Saturday.
  • Starting pay is $28.48/hr, increasing to $33.50/hr after qualification.
