Responsibilities

  • Perform welding tasks on various materials and alloys.
  • Fit and install process piping systems.
  • Assemble, maintain, and repair industrial equipment.
  • Interpret blueprints and specifications.
  • Prepare and align materials for welding.
  • Perform high-quality welds and verify weld integrity.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical issues.
  • Support plant outages and shutdowns.
  • Work safely in accordance with company procedures and industry standards.

Requirements

  • Strong welding skills, including Welding and Arc Welding.
  • Advanced process welding skills, including TIG and MIG Welding.
  • Knowledge of materials, including ferrous, non-ferrous, and exotic alloys.
  • Experience in pipefitting, including layout, fit-up, and installation of process piping.
  • Industrial mechanic experience in equipment installation, alignment, repair, and maintenance.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, isometric drawings, and technical documentation.
  • Commitment to safety and proper use of PPE.
  • Relevant certifications, such as welding certifications and OSHA safety training.

Additional Information

  • This is a full-time, on-site role based in the Hampton Roads, Virginia Metropolitan Area.

What you'll be running

This posting calls for MIG and TIG work. MIG (GMAW) feeds a continuous wire electrode through a shielding-gas nozzle. It lays down metal fast and is forgiving on clean material, which is why it dominates production and light fabrication work. TIG (GTAW) uses a non-consumable tungsten electrode with filler added by hand, giving the operator the most control of any process. It is slow, demanding, and the standard for stainless, aluminum, and anything where the bead has to look as good as it holds.
